Negotiated Salary Trial Program (NSTP) Call for FY22-23

UCR is entering year five of the NSTP Negotiated Salary Trial Program (NSTP) (trial period) FY22-23. Trial program period started July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022. FY 22-23 is the fifth and final year of the second phase of the trial. NSTP allows eligible lander rank faculty to utilize external sources to increase their total compensation. Participating faculty is required to generate the additional negotiated income. A Senate-Administrator taskforce system-wide was scheduled to review the program this past fall quarter with the goal to present a recommendation to the Provost early spring 2022 and to make determination if this program will be permanent. More information will be forthcoming. 

NSTP Call for FY22-23 is in progress and applications are due to APO by Friday, May 13, 2022. Eligibility and procedures are available on the Academic Personnel Office website.

Faculty Administrators Appointment Call for FY22-23

Provost Watkins announced a formal delegation of authority for appointment of faculty administrators within schools and colleges effective July 1, 2022 appointments. Academic Personnel Office (APO) made decision to transition the UCPath processing of faculty administrative appointments back to the respective Shared Services Centers effective January 1, 2022. 

AP Dean’s staff will be administering faculty’s administrative appointment letters for FY22-23 with Dean’s final approval authority. The Faculty Administrator Appointment Call for FY22-23 is in progress and a timeline has been provided to the AP Dean’s staff to assist with this process.

APO will continue to have the role of overseeing policy with faculty administrative appointments, tracking administrative appointment letters (for APO internal systems and campus administrator directory), coordinating Dept Chair recommendations with the Academic Senate for review and auditing future administrative appointment transactions.
